God is waiting!
“Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!” 1 Chronicles 16:11 ESV
Greetings, everyone, and Happy New Year!
I pray that all is well with you, your family and friends. Every year, we tell ourselves that this will be the year to achieve the goals we set last year or create new ones. God allows us to see another day to accomplish the plans he has designed for us. Proverbs 19:21 (ESV) says, “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” According to Joshua 22:5, God’s purpose in our lives is to do these two things:
1. “Serve him with all your heart.”
2. “Serve Him with all your soul.”
And when you do these two things, you demonstrate love to God. God wants to circumcise our hearts this year to remove the sin in our lives. Deuteronomy 10:16 (AMP), “So circumcise [that is, remove sin from] your heart, and be stiff-necked (stubborn, obstinate) no longer.” So, let this year be the year of asking God: Lord, what do you want me to do? Most importantly, trust God with what He has for you to do.
Heavenly Father,
We thank you for all that you have done for us last year. We praise You for saving us from our sins and giving us the gift of salvation. Lord, we lift our family and friends in prayer for this coming year to bless and protect from the destruction of the enemy. Father God, we also lift the world in prayer so that you will create prayer warriors and soldiers for your army. Lord, we know we are in a spiritual battle, but we will win souls for your kingdom in Jesus' mighty name. We ask you to forgive us for our sins and create a new heart within us daily. Please help us to serve you with all our hearts and souls. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
So, if you have not started already, I encourage you to pray and study the Bible daily. God wants to have an intimate relationship with you. He is waiting!
